Etymology:

This beautiful subspecies is dedicated to its collector Nicolas CLIQUENNOIS (Majunga, Madagascar), member of the ADEFA (Association de éfense de la forêt d'Ambodiriana), for providing his specimens for examination, help in locating historic collecting sites and good cooperation.

HOLOTYPE, male: Northeast Madagascar, Tamatave, Manompana, forêt d'Ambodiriana, lowland forest 100-200 m, leg. N. Cliquennois 15.III.2003 [Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris / MNHN].

PARATYPE, female + 16 eggs: Northeast Madagascar, Tamatave, Manompana, forêt d'Ambodiriana, lowland forest 100-200 m, leg. N. Cliquennois 19.III.2003 [Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris / MNHN].

PARATYPE, female (taken in copula with holotype) + 4 eggs: Northeast Madagascar, Tamatave, Manompana, forêt d'Ambodiriana, lowland forest 100-200 m, leg. N. Cliquennois 15.III.2003 [Zoologische Staatssammlung München / ZSMC].
